The value of Poker Seating

Texas Hold’em is just about players and seating. All experienced Texas Holdem players agree that seating in no cutoff Texas Holdem is fundamentally essential. Playing your hole cards in late spot might be certainly more profitable than in starting poker spot. This is because a whole lot more information is assembled right before acting.

For example, I played in a $1-$2 no limit cash round at a local spot. I limped in holding 2, 9 unsuited on the croupier marker, just to partake in a little fun. Flop came down A-A-4. A player in starting spot laid a fifteen dollar wager. Two players drop out and it was my turn to act. I should have dropped out, but something seemed a bit odd. I read this person as a weak-tight bettor, and usually if he had the strongest hand he would simply check, so I called.

The turn came down with a 7, making it A-A-4-7. My opposer made a further bet of $20. I debated a little bit, but decided to re-raise a further $30thirty dollars over and above his $20. He dropped out and I take the pot.

Playing last position allows you an insight into where you are positioned by seeing how players behave and wager. On the flip side, people at early spot can use their poker position to check-raise the late positioned antagonists and trap them later at the end. In Texas Hold’em, both spots, late and starting must be wagered carefully.
