Concentrate on Annie Duke

Annie Duke mightn’t have came away with her first World Series of Poker Bracelet until 2004 but Annie remains one of the most powerful poker competitors around the ring matches at The Bellagio in Vegas. Annie’s long-awaited WSOP win came with a win at the "forgotten game" of Omaha Hi-Lo.

While competitors from the "younger generation" of poker run amok following a huge success at the tables, Annie heads home to be "mum" to her four kids. She was born in NH and grew up in a family of poker players. If you do not believe that, check out her brother, Howard Lederer, in action, Howard taught her how to play poker.

However, Annie Duke is not a small change girl and has earned her share of difficult matches, which includes knocking out Howard along the way on several occasions.

Earning over three million dollars in tournament play, Annie branched out to become a advisor to both UltimateBet.com and actor Ben Affleck, who aspired to hone his abilities to become a power player at the poker table.

You may glimpse her at the Bellagio, you’ll catch her on TV and you may even compete against her in a web-based poker match, but do not bank on an easy win. Unless you’re a up and coming master, you will not defeat her. However, it is likely to be fun to say you sat at the same table as "The Duke".
